Laval University is a state-owned research university established in 1663 and is linked with AUFC, CARL, IAU, AUCC, CBIE, CEI and UArctic. The institution started as a university and was initially settled by François De Montmorency-Laval who was the first Catholic priest of New France.

The University has a collective student population of about 43,000 students, and also 7,000 foreign students. - Engagement Fellowship Programs: The Global Citizens of the World Engagement Scholarship is structured for foreign candidates applying for the 2022 summer or 2022 autumn semester in a typical master’s or doctoral program at Laval University;
- The objective of this scholarship award program is to inspire the growth of young, successful university candidates that show excellent engagement and devotion, in various fields, and are a source of motivation to their community.
- Master’s: A total value for the program is $20,000, which is $5,000 every semester;
- PhD: A total value for the program is $30,000, which is $5,000 every semester.

Candidates should have a final or qualified acceptance provided at Laval University for the scholarship award to be accepted. Candidates that are on the waiting list will not be considered as admissible.
