For the 2022/2023 academic session, the Public Service Commission (PSC) is accepting applications for the Government of Canada Postdoctoral Research Program.
The Postdoctoral Research Program (PRP) is a global, horizontal initiative. It gives promising young scientists across Canada access to world-class facilities.
It also gives you the chance to work on projects with multidisciplinary teams of expert researchers and technicians on projects vital to Canada.

- Because the PRP is for early career researchers, starting salaries typically range from $58,563 to $113,877.
Government of Canada Postgraduate Research Program Requirements
Applicants must have completed a PhD (PhD) within the past three (3) years to be eligible for this scholarship.
The degree should ideally be in the field of natural sciences from a recognized post-secondary institution. Specializations must undoubtedly be related to the responsibilities of the position.
So,
If you are currently pursuing a PhD at an accredited post-secondary institution, you can apply to the PRP. However, to be appointed to a position, you must have obtained your diploma.
Candidates with a PhD degree in a field other than the natural sciences (obtained within the past three (3) years) may also be considered.

If they have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a scientific field, they qualify for the degree. As a result, having a bachelor’s degree coupled with acceptable research, training, and experience will give you an edge.

- Planning, analysis and evaluation of research and development programs in Canada and abroad are critical; OR
- Work leading to the issuance of patents, copyrights or the development of new types, functionalities or designs. It is also about recognition of the research environment by the professional community.
